Don't worry if you are a complete beginner - I will guide you through simple phrases like "Olá" (Hello) and help you say your first words in Portuguese. This introduction will help me assess your current level and understand your learning goals, allowing me to tailor future lessons to your specific needs.
"Como é que te chamas?" (15 minutes) - You will learn how to ask someone's name and respond with "Eu chamo-me [YOUR NAME]" (My name is...). This seemingly simple exchange opens the door to understanding one of Portuguese's most important grammatical concepts: reflexive verbs and pronoun placement.
Grammar Foundation: AR Verbs & Reflexive Conjugation (15 minutes) - Through the verb "chamar-se," we will explore the conjugation pattern of regular -AR verbs (1st conjugation) in the present tense. You will discover how reflexive pronouns work in Portuguese - a fundamental concept that differs significantly from English. By the end of this section, you will understand patterns like "eu chamo-me," "tu chamas-te," "ele/ela chama-se."
