Hello, my name is Tim! I was born and raised in North Carolina in the United States. I love teaching English because I know I’m making a real difference in my students’ lives. Learning a new language isn’t just useful for business or travel. It also helps us grow as individuals and better understand other people.
In addition to English, I speak Spanish, and I hope to learn many more languages in the future.
When I’m not working or studying, I like going for walks and working in my garden. I love animals and nature, and I’m passionate about art. I love to draw, listen to music, and watch films.
My lessons:
I believe in the importance of learning natural-sounding English that you can use in real life. I design my lessons so that you have many opportunities to speak. I also include reading, listening, and grammar practice to help you improve your general understanding of the English language.
Mistakes are OK! They help us learn. Don’t be afraid to speak confidently and ask questions.
I believe lessons should be fun and relaxed. It’s harder to learn when you’re stressed out, which is why I am always friendly and patient with my students.
I give lots of feedback and corrections to help you improve. After class, I will send you notes and corrections so that you can look at them again.
I offer both free conversational practice and standard lessons. If you only want to focus on speaking, consider choosing a conversational class. If you also want to study grammar, vocabulary, and reading, you may want to choose my structured classes.
Our first lesson:
In our first lesson, we will spend a few minutes introducing ourselves. I will ask you some questions about your English, what your goals are, and how you like to study. If you have any requests, please let me know so that I can plan the best lessons for you!
Please note: I don't teach children, only adults. At this moment I don't teach absolute beginners.
