Welcome! I'm Masaki

I’m a language educator living in Battambang Province, Cambodia—a peaceful place where time flows gently.


Before moving here, I lived in Phnom Penh, a lively and human-centered city full of energy and character.

In my free time, I enjoy:

  • Motorcycle touring
  • Playing mahjong
  • Watching movies
  • Following the English Premier League


Cambodia is a country of many faces—urban centers, quiet countryside, lush farmland, mountains, rivers, and coastlines. If you’ve never visited, I highly recommend it! And if you're planning to travel abroad, learning the local language is essential. Or perhaps you have Cambodian friends or neighbors and want to connect more deeply?

Khmer Language Support

With over 11 years of experience living in Cambodia and working closely with locals, I offer lessons in “real, communicative Khmer”—the kind that truly gets your message across.

Whether you're:

  • A beginner wanting to start with greetings
  • An intermediate learner facing a plateau
  • Looking to improve pronunciation or listening skills
  • Interested in mastering vocabulary, grammar, and practical usage
  • Or simply curious about the Khmer language

I’ll tailor lessons to your goals and interests. Just let me know what you're aiming for!

Japanese Lessons Available Too

I also teach Japanese using the “Irodori” textbook series, with English support. These lessons are great for English speakers who want to learn Japanese in a structured and friendly way.

Lesson Guidelines

  • Recording: You’re free to record lessons if you wish—there are no restrictions.
  • Camera Use: If your device has a camera, I recommend keeping it on. Facial expressions and gestures help us understand each other better and make lessons more engaging.
  • Interruptions: If something comes up (like children or pets), just let me know. I’m flexible and happy to adjust.
  • Age & Gender: Lessons are open to all ages and genders.
  • Lesson Levels: There’s no fixed order, but some lessons are marked “intermediate,” so please check before joining.
