Self-introduction】

Hello, I'm Kinoko.

I studied science at university and graduate school, and worked for a long time as a researcher at a Japanese company. Now I teach Japanese at a Japanese language school.

Let's enjoy learning Japanese while chatting about your favorite things, such as food, travel, sports, and music. Discussing world news or new technologies like electric vehicles and artificial intelligence is great too. If you're interested but unsure how to talk about such complex topics in Japanese, don't worry. I'm skilled at teaching the vocabulary and grammar needed to explain difficult subjects clearly. Let’s study together.

If you're interested in learning about Japanese companies and factories, feel free to ask lots of questions. I'll share what I've experienced as a company employee.

I look forward to seeing you in my lessons.

Who is Kinoko?

① For many years, I worked as a researcher at a Japanese company developing new materials. I presented research findings at international conferences as well as in journals, collaborated with universities, and developed commercialization processes. I have extensive experience in presentations and business negotiations.

② I enjoy interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds, which led me to do volunteer activities. I’ve volunteered at science museums and assisted individuals from abroad who are living in Japan.

③ Through interacting with individuals from abroad who are living in Japan, I developed an interest in teaching Japanese. I obtained a Japanese language teacher qualification, took early retirement, and now teach at a Japanese language school.

What are my lesson like?

While free-talking (casual conversation) lessons are fun, simply repeating this practice will not help you improve your Japanese skills very much.

To improve your Japanese skill in a free-talking lessons, I believe it is important to focus on two things, “self-expression” to convey your feelings and opinions, and “rephrasing expressions” to help you find different ways to say the same thing.

Being able to express yourself well is truly rewarding. It can also help your conversation partner understand you better, leading to building stronger relationships. It also helps you enjoy conversing in Japanese with confidence.

“言い換え表現 (Rewording expressions)” is a highly efficient study method. Try expressing what you want to express in not just one way, but by using different words and grammar. It’s more practical and enjoyable than memorizing textbook example sentences. Paying attention to details like particle usage is important for this practice.

During our lessons, I’ll ask you lots of questions. Join me to naturally learn “self-expression” and “rewording expressions” while conversing together.
