Bonjour! Welcome to My French Classroom!

Hello everyone! Bonjour à tous!

My name is Ivone, and I am delighted to welcome you to my French lessons on Cafetalk!

I am originally from Guinea, a French-speaking country in West Africa, and I am currently pursuing my PhD studies in Japan. Living and studying in an international environment has given me the opportunity to meet people from different cultures and appreciate how important language is for communication, education, travel, and personal development.

I understand that learning a new language can sometimes feel challenging, especially when you are afraid of making mistakes. That is why my goal is to create a friendly, supportive, and comfortable learning environment where every student feels encouraged to participate.

My Background and Teaching Experience

I am the founder of Ivone Academy, an educational initiative dedicated to language learning, training, and personal development.

Through my work with Ivone Academy, I have been involved in teaching French and English online, preparing educational materials, and supporting learners who want to improve their language and communication skills.

I am also the founder of the English Practice Club (EPC), an international learning community that brings together people from different countries to practice English, improve their confidence, and connect through language.

These experiences have strengthened my interest in education and helped me develop an approach focused on communication, encouragement, and practical learning.

As someone who has experience learning and using languages in international environments, I understand the importance of patience, regular practice, and clear explanations.

What Can You Learn With Me?

My French lessons focus on helping students develop practical language skills they can use in everyday situations.

Depending on the lesson you choose, we can explore topics such as:

  • French greetings and self-introductions
  • Essential vocabulary for everyday communication
  • French pronunciation and useful expressions
  • Basic grammar explained in a simple way
  • Asking and answering common questions
  • French for travel and everyday situations
  • Speaking practice through short dialogues and interactive activities

My beginner lessons are designed to help you build a solid foundation while gradually developing confidence in speaking French.

My Teaching Style

I believe that learning a language should be interactive, practical, and enjoyable.

During my lessons, I use a combination of:

  • Visual PowerPoint presentations to explain vocabulary and expressions clearly
  • Practical examples to help you understand how French is used in real-life situations
  • Speaking and pronunciation exercises to help you become comfortable using new words
  • Simple dialogues and role-playing activities to encourage active participation
  • Friendly corrections and feedback to help you improve without feeling embarrassed

I encourage students to speak as much as possible during our lessons. You do not need to worry about making mistakes because mistakes are a natural and valuable part of learning.

My role is to guide you, answer your questions, and help you progress step by step.

How Are My Lessons Organized?

I offer independent, topic-based French lessons, which means you can choose a lesson according to what you want to learn.

For example, you can book a lesson on introducing yourself, pronunciation, everyday vocabulary, or basic conversation without needing to follow a long course program.

Each lesson focuses on clear learning objectives and includes explanations, guided practice, and opportunities to speak.

I prepare the teaching materials in advance so that we can make the most of our time together.

My academic journey in Japan has reinforced my belief that language learning can create meaningful connections between people from different backgrounds.

I am passionate about helping learners discover their potential and become more confident communicators.
