Hi, I’m Ryan.
The English language is my passion.
I have done many things for a living; I have sold books, poems, songs, and newspapers; I have clerked at gas stations and bookstores; I have been a travel agent and a lousy band manager; I have taught English for the British School in Prague and I have taught English to my co-workers as a busboy/bartender in a PanAsian restaurant. Recently, I ended a career as technical training manager of a global food testing network where I had been a technician, an analyst, a corporate player, and ultimately, their head teacher.
I have put my passion into all of those vocations.
That passion comes from the love I have for my team-mates and the language I use to co-operate. English bends and flexes around operations; it rises, grabs words, and molds itself around whatever needs to be done.
English is a rich language. There are many ways to say everything. We can effectively use English even when we know very little. We can never perfect English no matter how much we know. Learning English is not just about learning tendencies and rules so that we sound proper and educated. Learning English is about learning to understand the ways the language is being used around us, by our team-mates, our clients, and our competitors.
I have taught English to non-English speakers at all levels; I have also published plenty of words for native speakers and think I could teach them a few things as well.
Whatever level of English you speak or write; whether you are studying English for academic, professional, or personal reasons, I hope you’ll schedule a session so we can discuss how to achieve your goal.
