*Self-introduction:

Hello, everyone. Nice to meet you. My name is Mariel.

I am originally from the Philippines and have been living in Japan for almost nine years. I like hiking, traveling, cooking, and reading books.



Also, I can communicate in Japanese at an intermediate level.

For the past eight years, I have worked as an English teacher in various educational settings across Japan. I have experience teaching students at junior high schools, elementary schools, and through one-on-one private lessons via face-to-face or online.

In addition, I hold a TESOL/TEFL certification, which has equipped me with the skills to effectively teach English to speakers of other languages.

Teaching English has been a fulfilling journey for me, as it allows me to not only share my knowledge and culture but also learn from my students and colleagues. I find great joy in helping students grow in their confidence and communication skills.

*Lesson Information:

For my lessons, I usually use customizable power point presentations featuring various textbooks, topics, games, and activities which will cater to the learning needs and levels of my students. We will do repetitions, role plays, question and answers, free talking, and reviews  to make you have a lot of opportunities to use the target vocabularies and sentences.

The class will primarily be in English, but feel free to use a little bit of Japanese if you get stuck.
