I'm Sven, holding a Master's degree in Linguistics from Free University Berlin and a PhD in Philosophy of Education from Indiana University in the U.S.
As a bilingual English-German expert, I bring academic depth to every lesson, helping serious learners — adults and teens — from Japan, Korea, and beyond excel in conversation, writing, and critical analysis. My sessions blend linguistics with philosophy, perfect for those prepping for TOEIC, IELTS, academic debates, or exploring world cultures through language.
My lessons are guided by 25 years of experience with students ranging from 4th grade all the way up to adults in their 40s. Starting out as a German teacher in Wales (UK) in 1994/95, I proceeded to college teaching in various teacher education programs in Indiana, Florida, and The Federated States of Micronesia.
In 2014, I entered the realm of ESL here in Vietnam, where I have been working for 12 years now (both, in person and online). I'm married and have

one son, Quinn.
