Learning songs is one of the good ways to study a language.  This lesson explores songs from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s to be nostalgic and find meaningful stories behind them. We will practice listening, and vocabulary while also reflecting on the emotional and cultural stories behind the music. Most importantly, you will SING !!!

For copyright reasons, we may only cover a part of the song or short excerpts of lyrics or melodies for purpose of teaching idioms and useful English expressions. 

This lesson is designed to:

  • Strengthen listening and comprehension skills 
  • Improve pronunciation
  • Explore idioms, metaphors, and expressive phrasing found in lyrics
  • Encourage emotional connection and personal interpretation to deepen understanding
  • Balance comfort and challenge by integrating timed activities and reflective discussion

Whether it’s the poetic storytelling of Simon & Garfunkel or the punchy phrasing of Queen, each song becomes a doorway into a language learning activity that is fun and easy to remember.
