Detalles de la lección

Much of his poetry is about the north-east state of Maine and the rural landscape.

The Robert Frost poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” includes the famous line -

“Miles to Go Before I Sleep”

This is a deep reflection on the inevitable reality of mortality that every human being faces.

Let us look at this famous poem and discuss a couple of the lines-

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.

Whose woods these are I think I know,

His house is in the village though;

He will not see me stopping here

To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer

To stop without a farmhouse near

Between the woods and frozen lake

The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake

To see if there is some mistake

The other sound`s the sweep

Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely dark and deep

But I have promises to keep

And miles to go before I sleep

And miles to go before I sleep.

This description of the wind and falling snow creates a sense of peaceful quiet and the allure of the woods.
