In this lesson, you will learn how to write a 150- word letter to a friend in English.

Description

In this lesson, we will go over the basics of writing a letter to a friend in English. 

In this lesson we will learn about:


          1)  Organizing your thoughts: How to organize what you want to 
               say in order to make what you want to say clear and easy to read.

2)     Salutations- These are the way we say hello to our reader. We use hellos such as 'Dear friend', 'Dear Mrs. Yamaguchi', 'Dear Ilana', etc. 

3)     Body- The body of the letter is what we want to say to our reader. It should be structured into two or three parts. This includes asking about the person or people you are writing to.
Here are the parts of the body of a letter:

a.      Part one: pleasantries

b.      Part two: introduce and discuss your topic

c.      Important: ask questions about the person you’re writing to

4)     Closing- saying goodbye using words such as ‘thank you', 'yours truly', sincerely’ and sign or type your name.

When we learn this simple format, we can then write emails.
