Practical English for information and travel, and American small talk, for socializing and making friends.
Description
We will practice English conversation suitable for visiting the United States. Both practical, informational English, such as asking for directions, prices, and recommendations, and the "small talk" English that is expected in the United States, for socializing and making friends. We will cover how and when to do small talk politely, how to treat staff, body language rules, and how the culture around conversation differs depending on where in the United States you are. While this lesson is targeted for beginners and first time visitors to the U.S., I have plenty of lessons to suit a wide range of English and Spanish speakers, as well as those who are interested in American culture specifically. I think the best way to learn is by doing, so my lessons mainly focus on interactive practice and games, and fostering discussions with students.
