By the end of this lesson, beginners should be able to: Greet people in English-Introduce themselves-Use common courtesy phrases-Ask simple questions.

  2. Introduction (5 minutes): Greet the class-Explain the objective of the lesson

    Warm-up Activity (10 minutes):

    • Show flashcards with pictures of common greetings
    • Practice pronunciation and emphasize the importance of clear speech.

    Vocabulary (10 minutes):

    • Write common greetings and introductions on the board and Go through each word or phrase, pronouncing them clearly

    Practice (15 minutes):

    • Have students pair up and practice greeting each other with the phrases they've learned. Circulate and provide guidance and correction as needed.
    • Encourage them to use eye contact and smile while greeting each other.

    Role Play Activity (10 minutes):

    • Divide the class into pairs or small groups.
    • Give each group a scenario, such as meeting a new friend, meeting a teacher, or meeting a colleague.
    • Each group should act out a short conversation using the greetings and introductions they've learned.

    Common Courtesy Phrases (10 minutes):

    • Write common courtesy phrases on the board
    • Explain the meaning and usage of each phrase, and have the students practice saying them.

    Exercise (15 minutes):Hand out worksheets with exercises related to greetings, introductions, and common courtesy phrases.

    • Monitor the students as they work on the exercises, and provide help and clarification as needed.

    Q&A (5 minutes):Encourage students to ask questions about anything they don't understand or need further clarification on.

    Conclusion (5 minutes):Review what the students have learned and emphasize the importance of using these phrases in daily life.
