레슨 상세 내용

Online English Soroban Lesson for Elementary Students (30 minutes)

Age Group: 6–12 years old (elementary school students)
Duration: 30 minutes per session (ideal length for focus and effective learning)
Format: Online (via Zoom or similar platform)

Lesson Flow

  1. Greeting & English Warm-up (3 minutes)
    　Start with simple English conversation such as self-introductions or daily topics to ease into the lesson naturally.

  2. Numbers & English Basics (5 minutes)
    　Practise listening to and recognising numbers and simple phrases in English.
    　Examples: Counting 1–100, “What’s this number?”, “Show me number 27!”

  3. Soroban Basics (7 minutes)
    　Learn correct finger movements and how to represent numbers on the soroban in English.
    　Examples: Showing up to 3-digit numbers, “Move three beads up.”

  4. Calculation Practice (10 minutes)
    　Focus on addition and subtraction, gradually building mental arithmetic skills.
    　Examples: “12 + 7”, “45 – 23” → solve using the soroban.
    　Depending on progress, multiplication and division can be introduced.

  5. Review & Wrap-up in English (5 minutes)
    　Go over what was learned and confirm in English.
    　Example: “Today we learned addition and subtraction with the soroban. Great job!”
