Focus on improving English vowel & consonant sounds by using words that have small differences.

Minimal Pairs are words in English that have 1 sound that is different.
For example:
- cap / cup
- thing / sing
- let's / less
These words are often difficult for language learners to:
- hear the difference between words
- know how to say the sounds
- pronounce clearly in normal conversations
In this lesson, we will focus on over-pronouncing the difference. Why? When we're speaking in conversation, we are often a little bit lazy on pronunciation. This is natural; it's a more casual way of speaking. By practicing more precisely in the lesson, your 'lazy' speech will be at a more natural level.
Also, over-pronouncing words can be essential for noticing & hearing the different sounds when learning a language. Some sounds, like TH sounds, are not in other languages! English uses a lot of vowel & consonant sounds, and so can be extra challenging to practice. Language learners have to retrain how they hear & talk, and exaggerating the sounds can help!
As I am an English speaker from the US & Canada, my pronounciation will be standard North American in focus. If you watch a lot of American TV or movies, I'll sound a lot like the actors because of where I grew up!
