Description

Getting into an overseas university is one challenge.

Knowing what to say when the professor asks, “What do you think?” is another.

This lesson is designed for students preparing to study at an English-speaking university, college, or academic program.

We focus on the practical English and communication skills you will need to participate and succeed in real classes—not just general conversation.

You don’t need to prepare anything. I’ll adapt the lesson to your current level, goals, and study-abroad plans.

Real University English

Knowing vocabulary and grammar is important. Knowing what to do with them is even more important.

We can practice realistic situations such as:

Professor: “Could you explain what you mean?”
Classmate: “I’m not sure I agree. What do you think?”
You: “Sorry, could you go over that last point again?”

We’ll work on the English you need to respond naturally rather than freeze while searching for the “perfect” sentence.

How the Lesson Works

We begin with a quick check-in and identify what would be most useful for you that day.

Then we practice.

Depending on your needs, we might discuss an academic topic, practice explaining an idea, simulate a classroom discussion, work on note-taking, role-play a conversation with a professor, or practice asking and answering questions.

I’ll coach the English that emerges naturally and help you find clearer, more confident ways to communicate.

The goal isn’t simply to know more English.

このレッスンは、英語圏の大学、カレッジ、その他の教育プログラムへの留学を予定している方のために設計されています。

単なる英会話ではなく、実際の大学授業で積極的に参加し、学ぶために必要な実践的な英語とコミュニケーションスキルを身につけることを目指します。

事前準備は必要ありません。現在の英語レベル、目標、留学予定に合わせてレッスン内容を調整します。

練習できる内容

・自分の考えを明確に、自信を持って説明する

・大学で役立つアカデミック語彙や表現

・授業中に質問する

・授業中や授業後に教授と話す

実際の大学で使える英語

語彙や文法を知っていることは大切です。しかし、それを実際の場面で使えることはさらに重要です。

例えば、次のような場面を練習します。

教授：「もう少し詳しく説明してもらえますか？」
クラスメート：「私は少し違う意見です。あなたはどう思いますか？」
あなた：「すみません、最後のポイントをもう一度説明していただけますか？」

「完璧な英語」を頭の中で探して黙ってしまうのではなく、その場で自然に対応できる英語を練習します。

レッスンの進め方

まず簡単なチェックインを行い、その日に最も役立つ練習内容を確認します。

その後、実践練習を行います。

必要に応じて、アカデミックなテーマについて話したり、自分の考えを説明したり、授業でのディスカッションを想定した練習、ノートテイキング、教授との会話のロールプレイ、質問への受け答えなどを行います。

実際の会話や練習の中で出てきた英語を使いながら、より明確で自信を持って伝えられる表現を一緒に身につけていきます。

目標は、単に英語の知識を増やすことではありません。

留学先に到着したときに、今持っている英語力を実際に使えるようになることです。
