Hello everyone!
This is my first Tutor Column on Cafetalk, so I wanted to write about something simple, personal, and fun.
This season has been a really nice one for me. I have been busy with work and family life, of course, but I also had some special chances to enjoy my home of Miyagi, spend time outside, and make good memories.
A motorcycle trip with an old friend
Two weeks ago I took a motorcycle trip with an old friend who is from Texas. We rode from Sendai to Minamisanriku, a beautiful town on the coast of Miyagi Prefecture.
The ride was so refreshing. When you travel by motorcycle, you can feel the air, smell the trees, and really notice the small changes in the scenery. It is much, much different from driving a car.
After we arrived in Minamisanriku, we camped near the ocean. At night, we could hear the sound of the waves. It was quiet, peaceful, and just what I needed.
There is something special about spending time with an old friend. You do not need to explain too much. You can talk, laugh, relax, and enjoy the moment. It reminded me that friendship is one of the simple but important joys in life.
Vegalta Sendai during Golden Week
During Golden Week, my family and I went to two Vegalta Sendai matches.
I love going to football matches with my family. The atmosphere is always exciting. The fans sing, the players run like crazy, and everyone feels connected by the same hope... “Let's win today!”
My sons also enjoy going to Yurtec Stadium. Of course, for kids, the snacks and drinks are also very important! But I think they are starting to understand the fun of cheering for our local team.
Even if the result is not perfect (Akita beat us!), going to a match together is a great family memory. We can talk about the game afterward, remember exciting moments, and enjoy being part of the Sendai community.
Next adventure: camping near Naruko Onsen
In a few weeks, my sons and I will go camping near Naruko Onsen in northern Miyagi Prefecture. We are planning to camp for three days and two nights at a place we have been camping at every year ever since they were kindergarteners.
I am really looking forward to it!
Naruko is famous for hot springs, nature, and beautiful mountain scenery. I hope we can enjoy fresh air, cook hot dogs and yakisoba, relax outside, and of course go to Onikobe-no-yu onsen.
Camping with children is not always easy. Sometimes they get tired and grumpy. Sometimes they argue. Sometimes someone forgets something important! But those little problems most often become funny memories later.
For me, camping is a good chance to slow down. At home, we are always busy with school, work, homework, screens, and schedules. But up in the mountains, life becomes simpler. Eat, walk, play, sleep, repeat.
That is a pretty good rhythm.
Enjoying the season
This season has reminded me how much I enjoy living in Miyagi. We have the ocean, mountains, hot springs, sports, and so many nice places to visit.
I do not always need a big vacation or a long trip. Sometimes a motorcycle ride down Jozenji-dori

I hope you are also enjoying this season in your own way.
Maybe you are traveling, trying a new hobby, spending time with family, or just enjoying a quiet cup of coffee.
Whatever you are doing, I hope this season brings you some good memories too.
Thanks for reading my first Tutor Column!
