How to Stay Focused During Online Classes

Weekly Topic: How to stay focused during online lessons

Michelle

Here are some useful tips for staying focused during online lessons:

1. Create a Comfortable Study Space
Prepare a quiet and comfortable space at home to study effectively. It may be tempting to study in your bed or in front of the TV, but it may be hard to stay motivated in such places. Place all your study materials within easy reach, like your laptop, earphones, pens, water, and snacks. If you have one, it would be best to study in front of a window or balcony to have a nice view while you study.

2. Join Your Online Classes Early
It would be best to log in to your online classes a few minutes before the class starts. This allows you to check if all your camera, microphone, and speakers are functioning properly before class starts. It would be best to be in class at the right time to develop good self-discipline.

3. Reduce Distractions
Online learning can be challenging when one is always checking social media messages. Multitasking can distract one from the online classes. To reduce distractions, you should put the phone on silent mode to avoid disturbing messages. It is also advisable to close the applications to reduce the number of open windows on the phone. Wearing earphones can also reduce the level of noise in the environment.

By following these simple tips, you can stay engaged, learn more effectively, and make the most of your online classes.
