Three new ideas for staying focused

Weekly Topic: How to stay focused during online lessons

Tim Ar.

Hello everyone,

Here are some of my ideas on staying focused. Book a lesson with me today.

1. Don't Forget To Sleep - Sleep plays a vital role in reducing memory loss, so long study sessions that prevent adequate sleep almost always result in lower performance. Due to their flexibility, online classes can easily cause students to sleep less .... and this might cause students to sleep more in class!

2. Set study time limits -
Your brain isn’t wired for endless multitasking. Neuroscience research suggests most people can focus deeply for about 90 minutes, then need a break to reset. Use that window. Study hard, then walk around the block, close your eyes or look outside. Step away so you can step back in with energy.

3. Teach what you learn - Talking through a concept out loud or explaining it to someone else is a fast way to find out what you understand—and what you don’t. If you can’t explain it simply, you probably need to review it again. Knowing that you will be teaching someone else the content will keep you wide awake!

See you in class!

Regards,

Tim.
