The Scary Truth About a Real Safe Space

Angie A.

It's easy to say "safe space." But, it's harder to face what a real one actual shows you. So, let's rip the bandaid off.

Dear A-Team,

We all crave a safe place, somewhere we can be ourselves, free from judgment or shame. But why is it so hard to find?

Because a real safe space is like a mirror, it doesn’t just reflect the best parts of you;  it shows everything you’ve hidden. The bold parts. The wild parts. The curious parts. The pieces that society told you were “too much.”

As babies, we learned through curiosity; by touching, falling, and discovering. But somewhere along the way, we were taught to stay inside invisible boxes. To dim our light, to stop asking “why.” But the boxes don’t fit. Why?

Here’s the truth: we don’t fit inside those boxes because we were never meant to. We are beautiful stars being forced into square molds.

Facing that truth is scary. But the peace that follows? Worth every second.

So I’ll ask again: are you ready to face yourself?

Read. Reflect. Let it marinate. Repeat.

I'll be here when you are.
