A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.

Weekly Topic: What inspired me to begin teaching

Ms James

Teaching has always been close to my heart. My inspiration came from a deep love for communication and connection — I’ve always believed that language is a bridge, not a barrier. When I saw how learning English could open doors for students, help them travel, study, and work confidently, I knew this was my calling.

Another source of inspiration was seeing how patient guidance can change someone’s outlook. Watching a student’s eyes light up when they finally understand something, or when they use new vocabulary for the first time, is one of the most rewarding moments. That joy keeps me motivated every day.

I began teaching because I wanted to make learning accessible, supportive, and enjoyable for everyone. And even now, every lesson reminds me of why I started — because teaching isn’t just a job, it’s a journey I get to share with each of you.
