I became a teacher by being a student first. When I was in high school, my favorite subject was French largely due to my inspiring teacher, Monsieur C. In his class, I entered a world where the French language was real and alive. I learned history and grammar, of course, but also experienced music, cuisine, and tales of life in France. I always looked forward to Monsieur C.'s class, which was a gateway to French-speaking world.
Later, when I studied in France, I met many more inspiring teachers and, ultimately, became a teacher myself. Teaching has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my life! When I teach, I always remember Monsieur C. and my other wonderful teachers. My hope is that my classes will open a door for my students in to the English-speaking world and to English as it is really spoken!
