Today, I'd like to introduce you to my most interesting and fun class: 'Reading Out Loud – Hop on Pop'.


Reading aloud Dr. Seuss books is good for learning English and improving pronunciation:

  1. Rhyming and Rhythm: The playful rhymes help learners hear and practice natural English intonation and stress patterns.

  2. Repetition of Sounds: Repeated phrases and sounds reinforce pronunciation of tricky words and common sentence structures.

  3. Simple Vocabulary: Easy words and fun stories build confidence and fluency while making learning enjoyable. 

Did you know that around 21 vowel sounds are used in American English?

  1. /i/ – seat
  2. /ɪ/ – sit

  3. /e/ – say

  4. /ɛ/ – set

  5. /æ/ – cat

  6. /ɑ/ – father

  7. /ʌ/ – cup

  8. /ɔ/ – law

  9. /o/ – go

  10. /ʊ/ – book

  11. /u/ – goose
