Idiom of the Week
Introduction
Idioms are part of daily English. They are funny, colorful, and often don’t mean what the words say. Learning idioms will make your English sound more natural. Each week, we will learn one idiom you can use in real life.
In hot water
This has nothing to do with soup. “In hot water” means to be in trouble.
Example:
Jenny: “Why is your teacher angry?”
Mark: “I forgot my homework again. I’m in hot water.”
Try it this week: If you are late, say, “I’ll be in hot water with my teacher.”
