The One Question I Get Asked the Most (And My Answer)

今週のテーマ: 生徒さんからの“ナイス質問”紹介!

Hey everyone!

As a nutrition coach, I get a lot of great questions. But there’s one that comes up more than any other. Can you guess what it is?

It’s not about superfoods or secret exercises.

It’s this: “I’m doing everything right, but I’m stuck. Why can’t I lose weight?”

Sound familiar? If it does, please know this: you are not alone. This is the most frustrating feeling in the world. You’re working hard, but the results don’t show.

So, what’s my answer? It’s probably not what you think.

I don’t immediately talk about food.

First, I ask about sleep and stress.

I know, I know. It sounds too simple. But hear me out.

When you’re not sleeping enough or you’re super stressed (from work, family, life…), your body produces more of a hormone called cortisol.

Think of cortisol like your body’s alarm system. High cortisol tells your body: “We are in danger! Store fat for survival! Especially around the stomach!”

It doesn’t matter how perfect your diet is. If your cortisol is high, your body will fight to hold onto fat. It’s biology, not a lack of willpower.

So, if you’re doing “everything right” with food but ignoring sleep and stress, you’re trying to drive a car with the parking brake on.

My 2-Minute Advice:
Before you make another drastic change to your diet, try this for one week:

1. Protect your sleep. Aim for 7-8 hours. Put your phone away 30 minutes before bed.

2. Breathe. When you feel stressed, just stop and take three deep, slow breaths.

This isn’t a magic trick. It’s the foundation everything else is built on.

Of course, everyone is different. For some, the issue might be what they’re eating. For others, it might be how much or when.

But 9 times out of 10, we have to start by taking the foot off the stress pedal before we can even see what’s going on with the diet.

That’s the thing with generic advice. It tells you what to do, but it can’t figure out why it’s not working for you.

If you’re tired of spinning your wheels and you’re ready to find your specific “why,” that’s where I can help.

I don’t give my clients more rules. I help them remove the barriers—like stress and poor sleep—so the good habits they already have can finally work.

Want to find your "why"? Let's chat. I’d love to help you figure it out.

[DM me or book a meeting below to talk about it!]

Cheers to less stress and better sleep,
