Speak Natural English: Asking for Help

Brian L

Hi! I'm Brian-sensei, and I help learners speak natural, everyday English.
Here are two useful phrases from my phrasebook, Speak Natural English: 50 Must-Know Phrases for Japanese Learners.

Would you mind helping me out?
⼿伝ってもらってもいい?丁寧だけどカジュアルな表現。

Example:
A: Would you mind helping me out with my English homework?
英語の宿題、⼿伝ってもらってもいい?
B: No problem!
いいよ!

I need a hand.
⼿を貸してほしい。カジュアルに「助けてほしい」と⾔うときの⼀⾔。

Example:
A: Hey, I need a hand carrying this.
これ運ぶの⼿伝って!
B: Got it! I’ll grab the other side.
オッケー!反対側持つね。
