Let’s Talk About Pets – Yours, Mine, and Dream Animals

Hi everyone!

When life gets busy or stressful, one thing always brings us comfort: animals. Whether it's a cat rubbing against your leg, a dog wagging its tail when you get home, or a rabbit nibbling on lettuce, pets remind us to slow down, smile, and enjoy the moment.

This week, I wanted to write about something close to my heart—pets and English. Why? Because animals bring people together, and talking about them is one of the easiest and most joyful ways to practice speaking. You don't need to use big words. Just a few simple sentences can help you express love, memory, or even a dream of having a pet one day.

Let me share a little about my own experience first...

My Summer as a Pet Sitter

Last summer, I was a pet sitter, and I had the chance to care for many different animals. From playful puppies to quiet cats and even ferrets—each one had a unique personality.

Some loved to cuddle. Others were shy or silly. It was such a warm and special experience!

Here are a few simple sentences I used in English to describe them:

"Huihui is a fluffy grey cat. She is very kind and loves to cuddle."
"Gigi is a small pug. He is friendly and loves chewing his toys."

English Tip: Try writing a short sentence about your pet—or your dream animals—using this style. It's great practice!

Share a Picture or a Story

Even if you don't have a pet right now, you can still be part of this week's theme. Maybe you have a favorite animal, a pet you had as a child, or a dream of having one in the future.

You're welcome to draw a picture, share a memory, or bring a photo of your furry (or scaly!) friend to class. I'd love to see them.
