At Cafetalk, where you can take not only language lessons but also various music lessons online, the number of students—from adults and seniors pursuing hobbies to preschool, elementary, junior high, and high school students—has increased significantly over the past few years.

Many have been taking professional online music lessons in piano, violin, vocal music, singing, wind instruments, songwriting, and composition.

With the goal of providing "a stage for online learners," we host an annual Cafetalk Music Recital, along with planning online piano competitions and other virtual performance events.

Since the first competition in 2021, we have been a sponsor of the International Vocal Competition TOKYO (https://ivctokyo.com/)—Japan's largest competition specializing in vocal music. Our goal is to contribute to the growth of vocal music culture in Japan by honoring and supporting the passion of highly motivated contestants, including providing online lessons as supplementary prizes.

Professionals, aspiring professionals, and amateurs compete in categories such as classical vocal, musical theater, and ensemble. It is Japan's largest vocal competition where people of all ages and goals gather to learn and perform.

For the 6th competition in 2026, we are pleased to provide supplementary prizes worth a total of approximately 2.5 million yen. This includes one year of online lessons (4 times a month, 48 times a year) for 1st place winners in all 16 solo divisions, and three months of online lessons (4 times a month, 12 times total) for 2nd and 3rd place winners.

In 2026, the 6th edition of the competition will be held, marking its 18th year since its predecessor, the Tokyo International Vocal Competition.

Starting in 2009 with only three divisions (High School, University, and General—now the Grand Prix) and a total of 141 applicants, the competition grew to 18 divisions with 1,123 participants (from 7 registered nationalities) by its 17th year last year.
