Great to meet you!
My name is Shawn, and I have been teaching English since 2006.
 
★Self Introduction★
I graduated university with a degree in psychology, but I moved to China when I was 22. I became a teacher, and have been teaching adults and teens since then. I have two certifications for teaching English, as well as certifications for teaching IELTS. I also wrote an English textbook, and it seems many people in Japan have bought it. Thanks!


★About my lessons★
My lessons focus on building fluency. Yes, I will definitely help you build your vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, but the best way to build up your English is to mainly focus on fluency. This will help everything else also become better. I want you to use English to talk about different interesting topics, and use English to complete different activities. By using English, you will master English. My students who have followed this method are always the ones who make the most progress.



My students often say that I am funny and should be an actor. I not sure about the acting part, but I am glad that my students enjoy my lessons.
 
★Interests★
I am currently studying Japanese, because I hope to move back to Japan permanently in the future. I love the culture, media and environment there. I really enjoy the beauty of Nara, and am thinking that might be a great place to live.
My favorite singer is Gackt, but I also love Hamasaki Ayumi, Koda Kumi, Utada Hikaru and the original Morning Musume. I also enjoy reading, and I higly recommend "The Wheel of Time" novels if you enjoy fantasy.
