My name is Sven. I hold a Master's degree in Linguistics from the Free University of Berlin and a PhD in Educational Philosophy from Indiana University in the United States.

As a bilingual expert in English and German, I bring a deep understanding of the languages into all my lessons, supporting adult and teen learners around the world, including Japan and Korea, in developing their conversation, writing, and critical analysis skills. My lessons blend linguistics and philosophy, making them ideal for TOEIC and IELTS preparation, academic discussion, and exploring world cultures through language.

My lessons are based on 25 years of experience teaching a wide range of students, from fourth-grade elementary school children to adults in their 40s. I began my career as a German language teacher in Wales, UK, from 1994 to 1995, and have since taught various teacher training programs in Indiana, Florida, and the Federated States of Micronesia.

In 2014, I began teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) in Vietnam, where I still live, and have been teaching for the past 12 years (both in person and online). I am married and have one son named Quinn.
