Hi! I’m Shiela from the Philippines. I’m a TEFL-certified tutor and have been an online ESL teacher for 19 years. I specialize in helping adults and university students improve their communication skills for daily conversations, travel, job interviews, and business settings.
I also teach young learners—from elementary to high school—supporting them in speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary. My goal is to create a supportive, engaging, and enjoyable virtual classroom where students feel confident, motivated, and excited to learn English.
One of the highlights of my journey as a learner and educator was my one-month stay in Kobe, Japan. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience—immersing myself in the culture, meeting kind and welcoming people, exploring the beautiful city, and discovering how meaningful communication can be when learning a new language. This experience strengthened my passion for teaching and deepened my understanding of what students feel when learning English.
For me, teaching is more than just sharing lessons—it’s about inspiring curiosity, confidence, and a genuine love for learning. Whether in a classroom or online, my mission is to help students use English naturally and confidently in their everyday lives.
Beyond teaching, I enjoy photography, collecting diecast models and basketball cards, cooking, painting, writing stories and poems, watching historical movies, dramas, anime, and traveling. I truly believe that learning happens everywhere—not just inside a classroom.
