Welcome to my profile! Nice to meet you!
 Bienvenue aux élèves francophones!

My name is Stephanie, and I’m a Canadian who speaks English, French, and Japanese fluently. I’m also learning Mandarin, Korean, and Spanish! I love experiencing new things and meeting new people. I’m passionate about history and traditional cultures, and my hobbies include cooking, writing, travelling, hiking and many more things! Previously, I lived in Japan for seven years, where I worked as a teacher and also served as an interpreter and translator for the Japanese government.

Here is a little bit about me as a teacher!

I have 4 years of experience in English teaching in Japan, both in the public and private sectors. I have had students as young as 4 years old and as mature as 80 years old. I have also privately tutored English and French for many years, with a focus on East Asian learners, as my knowledge of Japanese, Mandarin, and Korean provides me with valuable insight into their language-acquiring skills and primary roadblocks.

Learning languages should be fun, so I like to use humour in my lessons. I also believe it’s essential for learners to receive classes tailored to their individual needs and interests. My mission is to help my students achieve their goals while developing lifelong learning habits. My motto is “perfection is the enemy of progress,” so don’t be afraid to make mistakes; they’ll cement your learning and make for great stories later!
