Hannah (thehomebodyteacher) Tutor Profile

Hello! My name is Hannah or "The Homebody Teacher!" I’m an experienced English teacher with over 8 years of ESL, EFL, and ESOL experience working with adults, college students, and high school students. I have completed my Master's Degree in Linguistics, emphasis in TESOL and a Bachelor's Degree in English Education, emphasis in Language and Linguistics. I am also a multilanguage learner myself!

Teaching (English) Philosophy: 
My philosophy of language learning is to treat it like a memorable journey to new adventures and opportunities. In my sessions, I believe in promoting a "chill vibe" or cozy café atmosphere. Whether you're here to improve your English, practice conversation, or just build confidence, I'm here to support you every step of the way! As a multilingual learner myself, I understand the frustrations and nuances that come with language learning, and I will do my utmost best to help you advance in your English fluency.

Singing Lessons:
For nearly 30 years, I have been a self-taught singer. I received several formal training in school when I had joined choirs, show choirs, private lessons, and vocal pedagogy training. I also have competition experience. My singing lessons incorporate my experiences as a former vocal student, and will be introducing some warm-up exercises and techniques to help you get started as a beginning singer and/or elevate your current singing skills.

I also offer singing practice, life chats, and even advice on caring for pets like rabbits! Whatever your goals are, I’m here to help!


Important notes about our meetings:

  1. I'd like to be transparent that I work another part-time job. I only receive my schedule every other week, and I am unfortunately assigned randomly. Therefore, I will be updating my schedule weekly and as needed. If my part-time work overlaps with our meetings, I may need to contact you and discuss rescheduling. It would be best to consider having 2 - 3 days of availability when booking an appointment with me. I would appreciate your flexibility and understanding!
  2. By late August, my schedule will be changing due to classes returning to sessions. Please keep in mind that my schedules can sometimes be inconsistent, but I will do my best to maintain our schedule and communicate promptly with any changes.
  3. Videos for our meetings are optional, but video on preferably.
  4. Calls may be recorded and posted as unlisted on my YouTube channel for your reference and ability to revisit our lessons. I will ask for your explicit permission at the beginning of each meeting prior to recording.

  • Cancellation possible at any time without charge.

After request is confirmed (fixed)

  • Less than 2hours before lesson start time.→ 100% of price charged.
  • Between 2-6hours before lesson start time.→ 50% of price charged.
  • No-Show→ 100% of price charged.
