Hello, everyone.
I’m Hara, and I currently reside in Tokyo.
I started offering Japanese language lessons in 2025 for individuals learning the language. It has been exactly one year as of July 2026. Having worked as an editor at a Japanese publishing company for over 20 years, I have extensive knowledge of the language. Additionally, since I’m currently studying languages such as Chinese, Taiwanese, and English myself, I have a deep understanding of what learners are looking for. I offer lessons tailored to various levels and topics, so please do not hesitate to book a lesson with me.
Currently, I offer lessons every Tuesday and Wednesday evening.
I typically open booking slots for the following week in advance, so please make your reservation after that.
I welcome questions at any time.
I currently offer two types of lessons.
・Learning Japanese through online textbooks
I offer Japanese lessons using textbooks.
“外国人住民のための日本語教室 (Japanese Language Classes for Foreign Residents)”
“いろどり (Irodori)”
“NHKやさしいことばニュース (NHK News Web Easy)”
We will read the textbook aloud together, and I’ll explain the vocabulary and sentences, and then we will do application exercises.
・Casual Conversation in Japanese
In this lesson, we will practice conversing in Japanese.
I will cover a variety of topics, including questions about the daily lives of Japanese people, discussions about movies and novels, as well as business-related inquiries.
If you message me in advance about what you’d like to talk about in the lesson, I can prepare and make the conversation more engaging, so please feel free to let me know beforehand.

・Graduated from Hiroshima University, Faculty of Letters, majoring in Japanese Language and Literature
・Worked at a Japanese publishing company for over 20 years
・Passed the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Level 5 in April 2025
・My hobbies include traveling throughout Asia and watching movies
About My Lesson Content
・I generally speak in Japanese during our lessons.
・While I can explain vocabulary and other concepts in simple Chinese, I am not yet able to explain grammar in Chinese. Please be aware of this before you book a lesson.
・I try to type what I say into the chat box whenever possible, so please use those as a reference. Feel free to copy it or use AI to translate it.
・If you’re shy or uncomfortable, you don’t have to show your face on screen.
A Few Requests Regarding My Lessons
・I will send my feedback to you after some time has passed, not immediately after the lesson.
・To help you better understand a topic, I may go over the lesson time to provide further explanation. If this can be a problem for you, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
・You cannot take two consecutive 25-minute lessons.
・Please contact me if you are unable to attend a lesson.
・While many of my students are from Taiwan and other Chinese-speaking regions, I welcome students from any other region and background.
