Hello! My name is Conor. I’m from the southeastern United States and am a certified yapper by nature, so talking about just about anything comes easily to me. Choosing my favorite hobbies is always a challenge, but writing is high on the list. I enjoy crafting poetry, mostly on the sad side, writing short stories, and working on several novels that range from historical fiction to high fantasy. My love for the English language, with all its quirks and oddities, inspires me to write. I believe that anyone can reach for the sky once they have a good grasp of language. That’s what I hope to help my students achieve. I also read a lot, and I’ll admit that I’m a bit of a nerd since I play a lot of video games as well.
In terms of qualifications, I hold degrees in English and English literature. I have completed all but my final semester of an education degree, which was interrupted by Covid-19. Currently, I am working toward my TEFL certification so I can eventually move to Guatemala with my long-term partner and teach English there.
I am easy to get along with and very empathetic about how challenging it can be to learn English as a second language. I love pointing out silly rules in English and can often explain where they come from. (Hint: most of the time, it’s the French language’s fault!) I am more than happy to help you with grammar, spelling, and pronunciation and more. If you just want to have a conversation to feel more comfortable, I’m here for it all and I’m here to help.
