Hi, I'm Fabiana.
I'm from Salerno, in Southern Italy, and I've lived in Japan for 12 years. From November 2026 I'm moving to Milan, and I'll keep teaching online, just like always.
Japanese spoken here, too
With beginners, I explain in Japanese whenever it helps. If you're afraid of making mistakes, or you don't know where to start, you're exactly who I love to teach. After 12 years in Japan, I know the mistakes and difficulties Japanese learners typically run into.
Training and experience
● DITALS II: certification from the University for Foreigners of Siena in teaching Italian to non-native speakers.
● [15] years of teaching. I currently teach at Nichii Kyokai (Japan-Italy Association). Before that, at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo, at Japanese high schools (Hosei) and at language schools in Tokyo.
● Degrees in archaeology and political science, so literature and history are my favorite playground.
My lessons
● We start by chatting: I listen to your goals, check your level, and we choose your path together.
● As much Italian as possible, with plenty of time to listen and speak.
● A cheerful, relaxed atmosphere, Southern Italian style.
Who it's for
Beginners and restarters Travel and work CILS and Ikken exam prep Literature in the original Bilingual kids (ages 6-11)
Lessons are offered in the morning and in the evening (Japan time). Check the calendar for open slots.
Good to know
• Having a child beside you during the lesson is perfectly fine.
• I prefer lessons with the video on: seeing your expressions helps me guide you. If that's difficult for you, just message me.
• I have small children. If something unexpected (like an illness) means I can't teach, I'll tell you as soon as I know and offer you a new date.
• Before booking, please tell me your goal and level if you can. I usually reply within a day.
• Times are shown in Japan time. When Europe switches between summer and winter time, my slots may shift.
• Recording the lesson is not allowed.
