Self-Introduction

Hi there! I’m Angus — thanks for visiting my profile on Cafetalk!

I’ve always been fascinated by language, not just the grammar and vocabulary, but the way it helps us connect, share stories, and understand each other. That passion naturally led me into teaching English. I love helping people express themselves and build confidence as they learn.

I hold a degree in International Trade and Economics, along with several Cambridge Business Diplomas in Finance, Marketing, Communication, and Human Resources. This background helps me work comfortably with all learners — from complete beginners to students focusing on English for work or business.

One of my favourite things about teaching is meeting people from different cultures and hearing their experiences. No matter where you’re starting from or where you want to go, I’m here to support your journey.

My lessons are relaxed, friendly, and encouraging — a space where you can try, make mistakes, and grow at your own pace. Whether you want to boost confidence, improve grammar, or simply enjoy speaking English, I’m here to help.

Teaching Background

I’m still fairly new to teaching, but the journey has felt very natural for me. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand new things — whether it was explaining something to a classmate or supporting someone preparing a presentation.

My interest in teaching grew when I began working with young learners, helping them build confidence as they learned to read and use English. Seeing their progress showed me how powerful encouragement, patience, and kindness can be in the learning process — and those values shape the way I teach today.

Although I’m early in my teaching career, I’ve already had the chance to work with a variety of online learners from different backgrounds and levels. I’ve taught children just starting their English journey as well as adults wanting to improve their everyday communication or business English.

 

Teaching online has been an exciting way to connect with people from around the world. Each student brings something unique, and I enjoy making every lesson personal, practical, and meaningful — whether we’re focusing on grammar, pronunciation, or simply having a relaxed conversation.

Teaching Style

My approach is relaxed, supportive, and tailored to you. Learning a language can feel intimidating, so my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and confident enough to make mistakes — that’s where real learning happens.

I teach learners of all ages and levels, and I always take time to understand what works best for you. Some students prefer structured lessons; others learn best through conversation — both are great! I’ll adjust the lesson to suit your needs and goals.

If you’re new here, a trial lesson is a wonderful way for us to meet, talk about what you want to achieve, and see how I can help. But if you’d like to jump straight into full lessons, that’s completely fine too.

I create lesson plans on grammar, speaking, and real-world English, and I’m always happy to tailor lessons around your interests. Whether you want structured learning or relaxed conversations to build fluency, I’ll meet you where you are and support you all the way.
