Hi. I am a Canadian living in Japan. I have been teaching English for over 25 years at all levels, from conversation to elementary school to secondary school to university. I have spent the last 16 years at university, where I teach, design curriculum, and specialize in academic English.
I am very easy-going. My experience allows me to have a relaxed approach to lessons and to effectively determine what my students need.
I take a production-based approach to lessons where you will use your English to complete tasks, then we will review and discuss how to improve, and we will try the task again. I prefer not to teach, but rather to coach and guide students to learn how to find the answers for themselves. We will deal with grammar and vocabulary naturally as needed.
