Hi! My name is Janessa. I'm from a country known as the giant of Africa - Nigeria! :)
After graduating from the university with a Bachelors degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Technology, I was employed as a class teacher in a nursery and primary school and taught children aged three to eight years of age. This experience helped me develop a teaching style that is friendly, encouraging, interactive, and supportive. Five years later, I transitioned to online teaching, but one thing remained the same - the desire to impart knowledge. In a bid to further strengthen my skill and positioning as an online tutor, I went ahead and got a TEFL certificate.
You can call me a jack of many trades, because even while I was pursuing my teaching career, I allowed myself to also pursue my love for creating and crafts. This led me to venture into content creation and start an online handmade business where I sold crocheted accessories and handmade jewelleries.
In my free time, I enjoy journaling, reading, crocheting, making content and watching movies - I have a particularly soft spot for Asian dramas!
If you would like to practice English in a friendly and supportive space, I'd love to learn with you. We can work on:
At the end of the day, my goal is to help you speak English more confidently and naturally, and to ensure that you enjoy doing so!
Now remember I mentioned that I have a love for crafts, especially crochet? So, if you'd also like to improve your handicrafts skills, I'd be excited to help you improve. Whether you're a complete beginner or have intermediate skills, I've got you covered! We can make wearable items like beanies, bucket hats, shawls, ponchos, etc, and we can also make toys and keychains if that's your vibe. And guess what - all the while using simple/easy-to-understand stitches! In our lessons, you'll discover one truth, that crochet is not as complicated as you think.
I look forward to meeting and connecting with you in class, and I hope to see you soon!
