Hello, I am Chihiro.
I live in Tokyo, Japan, and have two elementary school children.
I studied Japanese language education in university and hold a Japanese teacher’s license.
I have been fascinated by differing cultures since childhood.
Let’s enjoy our lessons together while you also teach me about your country and culture too♪

☆ Lesson Plan ☆

・In my beginner-level grammar lessons, I gently and carefully teach basic elementary grammar and simple conversation using “Minna no Nihongo” or “Irodori.” This lesson is perfect for learners who want to learn Japanese quickly through travel phrases or short-term study!

・In my travel Japanese phrases lessons, I use “Irodori” to gently and carefully teach simple conversations through travel phrases. This lesson is highly recommended for learners who want to intensively learn Japanese in short-term.

・My children’s lessons incorporate fun activities to naturally and enjoyably assist Japanese language learning♪
I can help with readings books aloud, studying hiragana/katakana/kanji, school class assistance, as well as checking school homework!

・Through free-talking, discussing the news and so on, I will teach you the correct pronunciation and vocabulary while chatting in an enjoyable atmosphere♪
Japanese culture-related topics such as anime, manga, and games are also welcome!
This lesson is recommended for intermediate to advanced level learners wanting to study correct Japanese pronunciation♪
If you are camera-shy, you can choose to keep your video turned off for the lesson.

・For my Japanese translation and proofreading lessons, you can provide your own text that you’ve written, and I’ll correct any mistakes and translate or revise it into proper, natural Japanese.
I’ll check for errors in grammar, expressions, and vocabulary, and we’ll review the translated or corrected text together while I provide advice.

From children to adults, beginners to advanced level learners, anyone is welcome in my lessons♪
I’ll propose a lesson plan tailored to each of your needs.

Bachelor’s Degree (Japanese Linguistics)
Completed Practical Proofreading Course

② Experience
After graduating from university and while working at a pet shop, I gained experience teaching Japanese through private lessons to people from 12 different countries, both in cafes and online.
I currently work as an online Japanese language tutor while also volunteering to teach Japanese to  children from abroad at elementary schools.

③ Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy watching figure skating, playing billiards, interacting with animals, and listening to music.
I love Japanese manga, anime, games, and traditional culture.
I also have experience with tea ceremony and iaido (1st-dan rank).
I especially love Ghibli, Pokémon, and Disney (including the mobile game Twisted Wonderland).
I’m what you’d call an “otaku,” so I welcome you to chat about your otaku and hobbies as well♪
