Public Speaking is definitely a skill that can be mastered.
The first challenge is to get the attention of the audience, when speaking privately you already, to some extent, have the attention of the listener, with a large audience however, it is imperative to quickly get the crowd's attention.
Poise - you MUST exude confidence, you have to exaggerate to some extent, just as theater actors do.
Presentation - you need to project your voice and use body language to connect with the audience.
Content - must be simple and clear, easily understood by all - when you use a punch line, you really need to punch it home !
Fortunately we have many examples to learn from, many techniques to copy, from the famous Simon Senik speech to the lesser known gems that we have dug out.
