In this lesson, we will learn about two different color palettes we can use in watercolor: cool colors and warm colors. We will see different examples of how these colors exist in our daily life, and then we will do a practical exercise (color circles and a fish drawing) and a personal-choice one. The goal is to identify different colors and learn better how to combine them.
You'll need watercolor paper, a set of watercolor paints, oil pastels, two cups of water, and a couple of round brushes in different sizes. Paper towels or a cloth are helpful for blotting and cleanup.
At the end, we will do a practical exercise using an image the student is interested in — it could be a flower, landscape, animal, anime character, etc. By the end of this lesson, you'll have the tools to choose the right colors for your own future paintings.
