Description

Pen Pal: Someone from another country, with whom you correspond on a regular basis, often to learn about each other's lives, cultures, and languages.

ンパル:定期的に文通をする、別の国に住む人。お互いの生活や文化、言語について学ぶことが多い。

******

This is a free, penpal-style written exchange in English.

Imagine a time when the only way to communicate with someone in another country was by picking up your ink pen and paper, writing a letter, leaving it in the post, and waiting weeks or months for a reply.

Today we use computers and mobile phones instead of pen and paper, and we have internet, so we don't have to wait quite so long.

But the art of thoughtful written communication can feel like it’s fading in the age of instant messages and social media.

This lesson offers a meaningful way to revive that art while sharing thoughts and ideas with someone else, the way pen-pals used to do.

And it is free because I want there to be no barriers.
Anyone interested in this type of experience is welcome to participate as often as they like.

The purpose of this lesson is to provide a relaxed space for written communication without corrections, feedback, or teaching.

English is used simply as a means of communication, not as something being evaluated or practiced in a formal way.

You can write about everyday life, your interests, introduce me to your culture or language. You can discuss anything from philosophical thoughts to your favorite TV show; keep it light, or explore deeper topics.

Please note that responses may take days or even weeks, depending on our schedules. Part of the charm of the penpal style is the slower pace, giving time to reflect on what you write.

You may take your time, use a dictionary or translator if needed, and respond whenever it suits you, no pressure.

*****

How to start:

If this is your first message, you might start by introducing yourself: your name, where you’re from, and something small about your day, a hobby, or a topic you enjoy. From there, the conversation can grow naturally.

You can write as briefly or as fully as you like. The main point is to share your thoughts at your own pace; there is no right or wrong way to start.

Note:

This is not a creative writing lesson or an English langauage lesson and does not include instruction or correction. This is also not a life counselling space.

これは創作の指導や英語の授業ではなく、指導や添削は含まれません。また、人生相談の場でもありません。
