Description
For upper intermediate & advanced level students.
These lessons use real articles for exposure to authentic written English. They are not simplified or taken from English-learning sites. I create my own lessons based on each article. (For beginners I recommend my 'Read & Discuss the News' lessons)
I will pick an article from a Global News site and we will study it together in class. Recent examples have been taken from Asahi Shimbun, the BBC, The Guardian UK and Taipei Times.
In this varied lesson we can practice a variety of crucial English skills including:
- comprehension & reading for gist
- describing a photo
- reading aloud
- pronunciation
- summarising
- answering questions
- discussion on the topic & related current affairs
