Learn Japanese through Anime & Games

Love anime, games, or manga? Let’s use them to learn real Japanese!
I worked in the Japanese game industry — as a game designer and motion designer on the Final Fantasy series — and I’m a lifelong fan of anime, games, and figures. In this lesson, we’ll look at the lines you love and understand their nuance: why a character speaks that way, what casual and rough expressions really mean, and how to use them naturally (and when not to).
What we can do
- Choose a scene or a line from your favorite anime, game, or manga, and break it down
- Learn casual speech, slang, character speech styles, and emotional expressions
- Practice free talk about your favorite works, in Japanese, with gentle corrections
- Behind-the-scenes stories of how game and animation teams work

- Pre-intermediate to intermediate learners who get bored with textbooks
- Learners who want to enjoy anime and games without subtitles
- People who want to talk about their “oshi” in Japanese

アニメ、ゲーム、漫画が好きな方のための、楽しく学ぶ日本語レッスンです。
私はゲーム業界で『ファイナルファンタジー』シリーズのゲームデザイナー／モーションデザイナーとして働き、アニメ・ゲーム・フィギュアのファンでもあります。好きな作品のセリフを題材に、「なぜこのキャラはこう話すのか」「くだけた表現や乱暴な言葉の本当のニュアンス」「使ってよい場面・避けるべき場面」を一緒に理解します。
