Confirmation bias is a thinking habit where our brain prefers information that agrees with what we already believe and ignores information that disagrees with it. This happens without us realizing it, because our brain likes to think quickly and feel confident. When we strongly believe something, we notice facts that support our idea and overlook facts that challenge it. Confirmation bias can affect everyday decisions, relationships, studies, and even important areas like health and law. Learning about confirmation bias helps us think more carefully, question our opinions, and become fairer and smarter decision-makers.
