Subject pronouns

Description

Subject pronouns are words that replace the subject of a sentence, indicating who or what is performing the action of the verb. They are used to avoid repeating nouns and to make sentences clearer and more concise. The seven common subject pronouns in English are I, you, he, she, it, we, and they.
  • Common Subject Pronouns:

  • I: First person singular (referring to the speaker)

  •
  • You: Second person singular or plural (referring to the person or people being spoken to)

  •
  • He: Third person singular, masculine (referring to a male person)

  •
  • She: Third person singular, feminine (referring to a female person)

  •
  • It: Third person singular, neuter (referring to a thing, an animal, or a concept)

  •
  • We: First person plural (referring to the speaker and others)

  •
  • They: Third person plural (referring to multiple people or things)
