Materials:

  • Audio/video of a chosen Western song (e.g., “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars)

  • Lyrics (with some blanks)

  • Online dictionary

  • Whiteboard / shared document (if online)


🧩 1. Warm-Up (10 min)

Objective: Activate interest and background knowledge.

Activities:

  • Ask:

    • “What kind of English songs do you like?”

    • “Do you ever read lyrics to understand the meaning?”

  • Play a short clip from a few genres (pop, country, rock, R&B).

    • Discuss: “How do the songs make you feel?”

  • Introduce today’s song (artist, genre, theme).


🎧 2. Listening & Comprehension (20 min)

Objective: Improve listening and catch details.

Activities:

  1. First listen (no lyrics)

    • Just enjoy and guess the topic/emotions.

    • Discuss: “What do you think it’s about?”

  2. Second listen (with lyrics with blanks)

  • Fill in missing words.

  • Review answers together.
