Do you think your answers to questions are too... boring?
Often times, language lessons in school are taught using sentence frames or repetitive dialogues. This is done to give students a basic knowledge & usage of language.
For example: "How are you?" "Fine, thank you. And you?"
A native English speaker will have a variety of answers to the question of, "How are you?" Even if they feel fine, native speakers will know to add specific detail explaining why.
when chatting with friends, we want to be able to express ourselves more. However, it's uncomfortable & difficult to do! How much detail do we add? Where do we add it? Is my grammar alright? Am I pronouncing things correctly? These pressures push language learners to use textbook answers.
For these lessons:
- Record yourself saying your answer the question below
- I will point out topics to help expand & develop your answer (within 24-48 hours)
- In the second "lesson," record a second try where you implement my feedback (within 1 week, please)
- Then, I'll give you my final feedback! (within 24-48 hours)
