【English Tip】Stop saying "I'm fine, thank you!" ?? Try these natural phrases instead!

Peace smiles

Hello everyone! This is Tutor Peace smiles

When someone asks you, "How are you?", what is the first answer that pops into your head?
For many students, the automatic response is:
❌ "I'm fine, thank you, and you?"
While this is grammatically correct, native English speakers rarely say this in real life! To native ears, it can sound a bit distant, robotic, or like a textbook from elementary school.
If you want your English to sound warm, natural, and fluent, try using these three simple alternatives depending on your day:
✨ 1. When your day is great:
  • "I'm doing really well, thanks!"
  • "Can't complain! How about you?"
?? 2. When your day is just normal/okay:
  • "Not bad, thanks! How are things with you?"
  • "Pretty good, just keeping busy!"
?? 3. When you are tired or busy:
  • "I've been better, it's been a long week!"
  • "A bit tired, but hanging in there!"
